Default What can I do? Isn't this against the EULA?

Hey everyone.

Let me begin by saying, I've reported this once already - a couple of days ago. I know the Support Team doesn't work on weekends, but what else can I do?

What's going on: I use Steam. Not with Guild Wars. I purchased Guild Wars retail instead of digitally, a long time ago. I found a group on Steam called, "Guild Wars 2 Universe". It's a fan-page, if you would call it that. I figured, "Well hey, that's cool! I'll be able to chat with other really big enthusiasts of GW1 and GW2. No. Instead, I (along with every other member today) have been getting spammed with:

"Guild Wars 2 Universe has scheduled new event - Steam Games 4 Guild Wars Gold."

Basically what's going on is this person is trading THEIR Steam Games for Guild Wars gold. Let me mention this now: the spamming doesn't bother me, so leaving the group will make no difference (to me, anyway)...it's more of this being against the EULA.

Proof of the first time (sent as a .jpg file to Support): http://i.imgur.com/9OaMP.jpg

Here's more proof as of an hour ago: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/GW2...54950155577167 (No longer there.)

You can see the events here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/GW2U/events (No longer there.)

I guess another question would be...can Guild Wars Support actually do anything about this? Technically Steam isn't really their... "jurisdiction", so to speak.

~Sarah

EDIT: the Steam group itself took down all the spam, but the culprit remains, apparently.

As fer advice, I'd say the best bet is to contact Steam (and wait for repliez). As you know, Steam (valve) is very strict when it comes to any sort of rule breaking, so I'd be surprised if they didn't do anything.

I actually got the impression Steam actually has a "Do it, but don't come to us if you get ripped off" approach to stuff like that, at least they did with TF2 before they integrated trading items for games as an actual thing. The issue, I would think, would indeed be with GW policy.

If you have sent in details to support with say screenshots etc then i think thats all you can do - its now in anet/ncsofts hands .Hopefully they will contact steam and investigate/pursue it.
